INTERNET sales for Hyatt hotels are set to double this year, with business worth more than $30m being booked on-line.
Although the levels are low compared to overall turnover, marketing vice-president John Wallis described the trend as a genuine switch in distribution. “Agents criticise us for this trend, but we are only responding to consumer demand,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hyatt is developing a series of new hotels across the globe. The Park Hyatt in Melbourne is due to open later this year along with the Hyatt Regency in Thessaloniki and Hyatt Regency in Taba, Egypt.
