n Riu to build first jamaican property



Spanish hotel group, Riu, is to break ground on its first Jamaican property this spring. The 350-roomfive-star Riu Palace is being built at Bloody Bay in Negril and is scheduled to open at the end of 2001.



n Superclubs’ negril resort adds capacity



Superclubs Hedonism 11 singles resort in Negril is to add 80 new rooms this year, taking its room count to 360. Developments at other SuperClubs in Jamaica include a new spa and 10 luxury suites at Grand Lido Negril, a new golf club house at Breezes Golf and Beach Resort in Runaway Bay and 36 new one-bedroom Jacuzzi suites at Grand Lido Sans Souciin Ocho Rios.



n premier and cresta add destination for ’99



Premier Holidays and Cresta Holidays arefeaturing Jamaica in their debut long-haulprogrammes for 1999. Cresta is featuring nine hotels in the resorts of Negril, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, while Premier has selected 12 hotels in the three resorts. Prices start at ú102 per person per night at the Coyaba Beach Resort in Montego Bay with Premier and at ú746 for seven nights at the same resort with Cresta.
