We at Oakley Travel are writing to show ourdisappointment about travel trade functions and events.
We enjoy learning more about tour operators products and attending social evenings in order to enhance ourproduct knowledge.
When we receive Travel Weekly, we flicked through for any forthcoming educational and social events within our area – northeast England.
Every week we spot quite a few events and think, great, we’ll send away for tickets, only to find the venue is London, Birmingham or even Manchester, which is too far.
We would like tocongratulate variousoperators, such as Hayes andJarvis, Airtours, Kosmar and Longwood – to name but a few – all of which have realised that the northeast is the hub of telesales in Britain, and produced great events forus to attend.
The northeast of England has a great amount of telesales units which sell more holidays nationwide than most other walk-in travel agencies.
So come on all you rich tour operators, please realise there is life in us northerners and arrange some great events for us to attend!
