NEWLY-formed Flag Choice Hotels has signed up five of the six properties owned by P&O Australian Resorts.
Dunk, Brampton and Heron island resorts in the Great Barrier Reef, Silky Oaks Lodge in Queensland and Cradle Mountain Lodge in Tasmania joined in time to be featured in Flag’s new brochure due out in April.
The deal gives P&O Australian Resorts another inroad into the UK and European markets. UK and European sales manager Judith North said: “Flag will greatly increase our distribution channels and the deal means we have indirect access to tour operator programmes which feature Flag Choice Hotels.”
Flag Choice Hotels was formed last June, when Flag International signed an alliance with US-based franchise group Choice Hotels International.
Most of the Flag properties are being rebranded under one of Choice’s brands – Clarion, Quality and Comfort – or being retained under the Flag or Heritage name (Travel Weekly February 10).
