Moving in mysterious ways along with SAS

ALWAYS waiting for an aircraft toilet to become vacant? Well, passengers face having to cross their legs for a bit longer if a clever piece of marketing by SAS comes off.

Those stylish Scandinavian innovators are putting windows into their aircraft toilets.

Passengers are so taken with the idea of gazing over the world in private that SAS managers are concerned they will have to give people slots for toilet-time.

A senior manager told Backchat: “Customers think it is a fantastic idea.

“However, cabin staff are expected to have trouble getting passengers out of the toilets. We may have to time them.”

Curiously, the manager added that some customers were concerned there would be no curtains to protect their modesty at 33,000ft.

She said this would addressed. Well that’s a relief!

The window wheeze is being implemented along with another cunning initiative.

SAS is fixing a work-out metal bar above aircraft aisles so passengers can swing from them to relieve stress and give themselves a bit of a stretch.

And finally, smaller passengers are not being neglected. SAS has designed a cuddly toy character shaped like an ice-cube to keep the kiddies amused while parents are in the toilet or swinging from the work-out bar.

Meanwhile, on the same day as SAS revealed its window idea to Backchat in Copenhagen, a plan to show off the Danish capital was shelved by hundreds of tough-looking riot police.

The Wonderful Copenhagen tourism people had set up visits to the city’s famous Stroget shopping street but the police closed it to contain hundreds of angry chanting Kurds demonstrating.

Backchat was not too unhappy, as the weather was very cold and the hastily arranged visit to a bar soon helped to keep out the ‘chill factor’.
