n hotel ta’ cenc plans first golf course for Gozo



Plans are advanced for the five-star Hotel Ta’ Cenc to build Gozo’s first golf course. More than ú1m invested in the property includes restyling of the lounge and bar area. A beach-side development of 60 villas is planned.



n Five-star excelsior on track for 2000 opening



Construction of the five-star Excelsior in Floriana is nearing completion. The 850-room hotel is set to open in summer 2000 and is a rebuild of the 1960s-built Excelsior.

The Air Malta-owned Crowne Plaza in Sliema, newly rebranded from the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, has added meeting rooms, a business centre and in-room PC modem point.

The four-star New Dolmen Hotel at Qawra has opened the St Paul’s Bay area’s first casino, the Oracle.



n rabat property waits on golf course decision



The former Grand Hotel Verdala at Rabat is awaiting approval to build Malta’s second golf course before upgrading to five-star status. The hotel, closed since 1996, is set to reopen as the Inter-Continental Malta.
