DEBONAIR is offering agents 20% commission on all seat sales until March 30.
The increase from the usual 9% is designed to boost Debonair’s business in its fierce fight with rivals EasyJet, Go and Ryanair for a bigger share of the no-frills market.
The decision by the low-cost airline to offer an increased rate bucks the trend amongst the no-frills carriers – some refused to offer agents any commission while others provide a flat 7.5% rate.
The commission hike follows Debonair’s decision to introduce an ABCbusiness-class product (Travel Weekly October 7 1998).
