Cruiselines offer UK visitorsaccess to Web site bookings

ROYAL Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises cruising holidays are to be offered on a USWeb site with real-time booking facilities by the end of March.

The project is an initiative by the cruise operators’ US parent company Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, but it will be possible for UK holidaymakers to access the booking facilities via the Internet.

Royal Caribbean sales, marketing and operations director Pete Williams said the UK operation had no part in the Web site and would not promote it.

Royal Caribbean has announced names for the second and third 142,000-tonne ships it plans to build as sisters to Voyager of the Seas, which is still under construction by Kvaerner in Helsinki. They will be Explorer of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas. Two smaller 85,000-tonne ships ordered from Meyer-Werft in Germany are to be named Radiance of the Seas and Brilliance of the Seas.
