n Unijet appoints new short-haul manager



John Riley has been promoted to general manager of Unijet’s short-haul operation following the departure of ChrisWoodbridge Cox to Virgin Sun. He will head up product development andoverseas operations for Summersun, Wintersun, Greece and Turkey.



n leicester centre wins abta approval



Leicester’s Tourist Information Centre has been granted ABTA membership for its holiday shop, a division of Leicester Promotions. The shop, which began trading last summer, sells sporting, shopping and city breaks.



n Bath travel hands training role to TTC



Bath Travel has handed responsibility for its entry level recruits to the Travel Training Company. Thirteen trainees are currently taking the two-year modern apprenticeship scheme leading to NVQ level 3.



n Pegasus signs deals with seven hotel chains



US-based Pegasus systems has signed deals with seven more hotel chains to enable real-time reservations to be made from its Web site. The companies are Best Western Hotels, Destination Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, La Quinta Inns and Suites, Prime Hospitality’s AmeriSuites, W Hotels and Westin Hotels and Resorts.



n Rail europe gets new marketing manager



Rail Europe has appointed Jennifer Michaels marketing manager, campaign planning. Michaels will report to Karen Gee.
