Agents backed to capitalise on Western Australia TV exposure

Agents are being helped to promote Western Australia as the destination’s profile is raised via TV coverage this month.

The state is being featured on both ITV1’s This Morning and on a new Channel 5 documentary with UK astronaut Tim Peake.

Fronted by UK MasterChef presenter John Torode, the mini-series for This Morning is airing on Tuesdays throughout September.

Viewers will see him take on bucket list experiences along Western Australia’s Coral Coast, before cooking with local ingredients.

Tim Peake’s new documentary, Secrets of the Universe, starts next week and will see Western Australia take centre stage on episode two on September 26.

The heightened exposure comes as Singapore Airlines offers trade partners the chance to win one of two places on a fam trip to Perth as an incentive to encourage bookings by September 20 including a minimum stay-over of 48 hours in Singapore for travel any time.

Australia specialist Anzcro has created an itinerary featuring key spots featured on the This Morning show for agents to utilise.

Sales director Shubhra Halliday said: “It has been great, with the support of Tourism Western Australia, to be able to share the trailers and footage from the programme to our agents.

“We have also provided sample itineraries with images for them to share in our agents group which they in turn are promoting – the latest being a stay in Perth and visit to Rottnest to coincide with the first episode.

“We are also a collaborating on training for agents, which we hope will give agents more confidence to send more clients down to this fantastic state.”
