Airlines extend Israel flight cancellations into March

The suspension of some flights between the UK and Israel has been extended until March due to the conflict in Gaza.

Virgin Atlantic has cancelled one service from Heathrow until March 16.

A second daily summer service to the Israeli gateway city is currently not scheduled to operate, according to the carrier.

Wizz Air confirmed that flights to Tel Aviv have been cancelled until March, with the budget airline having previously suspended services until the end of January.

British Airways’ London to Tel Aviv service currently remains cancelled until January 31.

Ryanair flights to Tel Aviv from various points in Europe have also been suspended until the end of the month.

EasyJet continues to say it is reviewing its flying programme to Israel “on a regular basis”.

El Al continues to operate flights between Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv and London and to other destinations “in accordance with the instructions of the Israeli security forces”.

Many airlines dropped flights to Tel Aviv after the Hamas attacks into Israel on October 7 and the subsequent Israeli military action in Gaza.

However, Lufthansa plans to resume flights from Frankfurt and Munich from January 8 along with sister carriers Swiss from Zurich and Austrian Airlines from Vienna. Services were suspended on October 9.
