Bristol airport reopened at lunchtime on Wednesday after snow on the runway forced the southwest hub to close this morning, but said disruption was likely to continue.
The airport tweeted that it was operational again but added: “The weather has caused ongoing disruption to a number of flights at Bristol Airport.
“This is likely to continue into the evening. Please continue to check with your airline for the latest information.”
Earlier it had said its teams were working hard to clear the snow from the runway and urged passengers to check with their airline about flight information.
The disruption came as many parts of southern England, Wales and Scotland saw snowfall overnight and more bad weather is forecast.
National Highways issued a “severe weather alert” for snow affecting the southeast and southwest from noon on Wednesday until 3am on Thursday.
The West Midlands and east regions will be affected between 3pm and Midnight.
It warned of possible travel delays on roads, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
