Travellers from the UK to Cuba will be required to fill in a tourist form before travel from next week.
The Cuba Tourist Office confirmed the change, saying that the digital process will provide advanced information “to speed up procedures” at entry points to the country.
“It is mandatory for each passenger to truthfully complete the in formation provided,” the CTO website said.
A spokesperson confirmed: “Please note that from the 23rd of January, everyone entering Cuba must fill out a form within 48 hours prior to their flight. The form is mandatory for all passengers flying to Cuba.”
A new Foreign Office advisory for Cuba said: “If you’re entering Cuba as a tourist, you’ll need to get a tourist card before you travel.
“You can apply via the Cuban Embassy in London or check with your travel agent or tour operator.”
It added that entry restrictions and requirements “may change with little warning”.
