Aeromexico chief commercial officer Nicolas Ferri is joining partner Delta Air Lines as Europe, Middle East, Africa and India vice president.
He will be based in Paris from November 1 working closely with European joint venture partners Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic.
Ferri is to oversee key strategic commercial and customer experience initiatives in the region as Delta focuses on rebuilding its transatlantic network.
It is not a new role but Delta has not had an executive in place since Corneel Koster moved to Virgin Atlantic in August 2019.
“The appointment of Nicolas marks a new regional strategy as we continue our recovery from the pandemic,” the US carrier said.
He had been seconded to Aeromexico as part of a ten-year career with Delta.
International president Alain Bellemare said: “Nicolas’ vast international and alliances experience will be vital to our continued success as demand picks up and we reopen travel corridors across the region.
“With customers returning to the skies, we look ahead to 2022 and the rebuilding of our international portfolio with optimism.”
Ferri added: “It’s a pivotal moment joining the EMEAI team and leading our regional efforts as the U.S. reopens to international travel.
“I’m looking forward to meeting our customers and working closely with our partners to grow our business and build on Delta/Air France/KLM/Virgin Atlantic’s leading transatlantic joint venture.”
