An executive instrumental in implementing a joint venture. between Delta Air Lines and Korean Air is to oversee the US carrier’s European operations.
Matteo Curcio has been promoted to senior vice president for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI).
He was previously vice president for the Asia Pacific region for seven years, leading expansion of Delta’s trans-Pacific network in Korea, Japan and China.
In his new Paris-based role, Curcio will be responsible for overseeing all commercial activities across the EMEAI region while further developing long-term growth opportunities with Delta’s joint venture partners Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic.
His background since joining Delta in 2006 has included transatlantic network planning, alliance strategy, and establishing joint venture and bi-lateral partnerships across the globe.
He previously worked at former Italian flag carrier Alitalia in network planning, revenue management and corporate strategy.
Curcio is replacing Nicolas Ferri, who was a vice president and is retiring from the airline.
