EasyJet introduces Amsterdam to Southampton schedule

EasyJet is to add Amsterdam to its network from Southampton airport.

The UK budget carrier will break KLM’s monopoly on the route to the Dutch city with the start of flights this winter.

Easyjet will operate two flights a week on Mondays and Fridays from October 28 to allow for city breaks. Single fares start at £23.99.

The new route follows the airline extending an Alicante service into the winter season to provide year-round flights.

Amsterdam becomes the carrier’s seventh route from Southampton, adding to Domestic services to Belfast and Glasgow, Geneva, Alicante, Palma and Faro.

Easyjet country manager Ali Gayward said: “We are delighted to be launching a new winter route from Southampton airport to Amsterdam, providing our customers in the south of England with more choice and connectivity, whether they are travelling for business or leisure and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”

Christopher Tibbett, group aviation director of Southampton airport owner AGS Airports, added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be see easyJet expand its presence at Southampton airport this winter with the news it will commence services to Amsterdam.

“In the past 12 months, the UK’s biggest low-cost carrier has expanded its presence from the region in a significant way, with Amsterdam becoming the seventh destination it will serve, up from just one this time last year.

“This link into the Netherlands’ capital will not only provide our passengers with more travel options but also underscores our commitment to improving regional connectivity.

Amsterdam is a major European hub, and we are confident that this service will be well-received by both our leisure and business passengers and adds even more choice for consumers in the region wanting to get to or from Amsterdam, along with providing further options for inbound tourism.”
