EasyJet has further extended the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv into next week amid intensifying war between Israel and Gaza.
The budget airline had paused its service until today (Friday) but flights have now been cancelled until October 17.
The airline said: “We will be contacting customers who are due to travel to and from Tel Aviv on these dates, by email and SMS with the details provided at the time of booking and check in.
“Any EasyJet flight-only customers whose flights have been cancelled will be able to request a voucher for the full value of their flight, a refund or transfer their flights free of charge for future travel.”
Customers booked on easyJet holidays packages to Israel up to October 21 are being given the option to change destinations or cancel at no cost to receive credit for an alternative holiday.
EasyJet advised: “If you made your booking through a travel agent, please contact your travel agency for help with your full travel plans. If you need further assistance and your agent is unable to help you, please contact our customer service team. Remember to let your tour operator or travel agent know about any changes you make.
“Some governments are operating repatriation flights for their nationals. Please visit your government or embassy website for more information.”
British Airways flights between Heathrow and Tel Aviv currently remain suspended up to and including tomorrow (Saturday).
Virgin Atlantic flights to the Israeli city are suspended until Sunday when one of two daily flights is due to resume. The second frequency has been cancelled until October 27.
El Al is continuing to operate from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport but warned that departure times of some flights may change.
The carrier said: “El Al Airlines operates in accordance with the instructions of the Israeli security forces.”
Ryanair flights to Tel Aviv from parts of Europe have been cancelled until October 16.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office updated its travel advice to say that the “fast-moving situation” in the region “poses significant risks”.
The new alert came as the Israeli military announced today (Friday) that the entire population of Gaza north of Wadi Gaza should relocate to southern Gaza within the next 24 hours.
