A transatlantic codeshare between Emirates and United Airlines has been activated to offer improved access to the US domestic market.
The pact will enable passengers flying from Dubai to three US gateways – Chicago, Houston and San Francisco – to connect onto United’s network of more than 150 US cities.
The reciprocal agreement extends to passengers flying out of the US with Emirates to Dubai and onward in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and India.
The deal is seen as complementing the Gulf carrier’s network of flights to 12 points across the US, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Washington.

Passengers on the codeshare flights can plan trips on a single ticket in addition to bags being checked through to the final destination.
Emirates’ Skywards frequent flyer scheme members can earn and redeem miles on flights across United’s worldwide network.
Emirates chief commercial officer Adnan Kazim said: “We are extremely delighted to activate this historic partnership with United and significantly expand our footprint in the US.
“United’s vast network across the Americas will help us to offer more choice to our customer base from across the globe, and meet demand from across segments including the leisure, VFR, corporate travellers and students who can now connect seamlessly to and from a broader network of more than 150 domestic points.”
