The qualifying period for vaccination status for UK travellers to France has changed.
Britons wanting to go skiing or on city breaks for half term will have to get a booster if they received their second dose any earlier than May last year.
To be recognised as fully jabbed, anyone aged 18 or over must have had their primary full vaccination course within the past nine months or a Covid-19 booster.
Those who were fully vaccinated more than nine months ago and have not had a booster have to follow rules which apply to unvaccinated travellers, including ten days of self-isolation and an essential reason to travel to France.
Under 18s do not need a booster jab to be considered as fully vaccinated.
The Foreign Office confirmed in updated travel advice: “Travellers aged over 18 and one month who had their full vaccine course over 9 months ago and have not since received a Covid-19 vaccine booster must follow the rules for unvaccinated passengers to enter France.”
In an update today, the Foreign Office added information on the requirement for fully vaccinated travellers from the UK to provide a negative PCR or antigen test result, taken 48 hours before travel to France.
The changes came into force on Wednesday (February 2) and are also detailed on the Eurostar website.
