Holiday Village homeworker Martin Sandland-Owens is on a high after making two bookings at 36,000ft.
Sandland-Owens took two enquiries from existing clients while on an Aer Lingus flight from Manchester to Orlando.
One booking, worth £15,000, was for four cabins for a family of 10 for a seven-night Mediterranean cruise on MSC Grandiosa in August.
The other, worth £3,000, was for two cabins for three adults and a child for a seven-night Norwegian fjords cruise on MSC Virtuosa.
Sandland-Owens was able to make the bookings while in his flight seat.
“I was delighted to assist my clients, even when on annual leave at 36,000ft in the air,” he said.
“Customer care is so important; to be able to assist my clients this way is amazing.”
MSC Cruises national account manager Colin Rillie helped to input details for the bigger booking after receiving a message via Facebook.
“I logged on from home as Martin was having issues with staying in our booking system in the air,” said Rillie, adding: “Martin’s messaged me from cruise ships and hotels in the past, but this was a first!”
