International Airlines Group (IAG) has increased its target for women in senior roles across the group to 40% by 2025.
British Airways’ parent company previously aimed to reaching 33% by 2025 – a target which it achieved in 2021.
Female representation on IAG’s board currently stands at 42%.
IAG’s airlines have several initiatives to support gender equality including reviewing recruitment processes to ensure diverse shortlists and interview panels; setting up mentoring and networking opportunities to women; and providing educational programmes for girls and young women considering career paths in aviation.
Luis Gallego, IAG chief executive, said: “We have made great progress in increasing female representation in recent years as part of a robust approach to diversity and inclusion.
“Having achieved our previous target for 2025 in 2021, we are extending our ambition to 40% of senior management roles being held by women in the same timeframe.”
More details about the drive are featured on the IAG LinkedIn page with video presented by Carolina Martinoli, chief people, corporate affairs and sustainability officer, ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8.
As well as BA, IAG is the parent company of Aer Lingus, Iberia, Vueling and Level.
