Newmarket Holidays claimed a 250% spike in Canada bookings in the wake of TV series Race Across The World.
The escorted tour specialist is discounting trips by up to 15% on holidays booked until June 9, including group travel to Niagara Falls, the Rockies and Canadian cities.
The rise in demand followed the BBC TV series where couples competed to travel across the country without smartphones, credit cards and by organising their own transport.
The operator’s destination manager US, Canada, Middle East and Indian subcontinent, Richard Harrington, said: “The Race Across the World Series has been superb in showing the diversity of a Canadian holiday, including its stunning landscapes, fabulous wildlife and vibrant cities.
“The contestants couldn’t have successfully completed the race without the warm welcome and support of the Canadian people which was the real story of the show.
“Canada is such a beautiful country and our customers have definitely got it on their wish lists.”
