Ryanair adds three Newquay routes to summer schedule

Ryanair has unveiled its “biggest-ever Cornwall schedule” for summer 2023, adding routes from Newquay airport to Dublin, Stansted and Malaga.

The airline will operate more than 25 weekly flights next summer across five routes and said it will support 90 jobs.

Eddie Wilson, chief executive of Ryanair DAC, said: “Ryanair is delighted to announce even more growth with our biggest ever Newquay schedule, including three new routes to Dublin, London and Malaga for summer 2023.”

Wilson went on call on prime minister Rishi Sunak to abolish air passenger duty (APD) immediately to promote “much needed connectivity to the UK”.

“Ryanair is driving Cornwall’s economic recovery through our delivery of year-round tourism, regional investment and support of 90 local jobs,” he added.

“However, if we are to continue to grow and to drive real recovery, the UK government must immediately scrap ABD in full for all travel (not just domestic travel) and provide incentives for airlines like Ryanair to stimulate growth and recovery for the UK and its regions, such as Cornwall.”

To celebrate the announcement of three new routes from Newquay airport, Ryanair has launched a flash seat sale with fares from £24.99 for travel between April and October 2023.

Newquay airport managing director Sam O’Dwyer said: “We are committed to offering more options and choice for those wanting to travel to and from Cornwall. Malaga in particular is undoubtedly going to be a very popular addition to our network.”
