Singapore Airlines sees pandemic passenger recovery in July

Singapore Airlines carried more than two million passengers in July – the first time the level has been achieved in a month since the start of the pandemic.

The result follows increased demand following the lifting of more global travel restrictions, with carryings up by 7.5% over the previous month.

The airline said: “Demand for air travel remained robust during the peak summer season across every route region except East Asia, where travel restrictions remain in place in some key markets.”

The SIA group, including low cost arm Scoot, resumed service to Shenzhen in China to expand its network to 99 destinations by the end of last month.

Group capacity reached 67% of pre-Covid-19 levels during the month.

The land factor was up by 71.1 percentage points year-on-year to 87.4%.
