Virgin Atlantic has unveiled a new loyalty scheme for travel agents, called the Sky High Club.
It was revealed to travel agents on Thursday night (July 14) at the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards ceremony in London, where the airline was the headline sponsor.
Starting in September, the programme will enable travel agents to accrue points for selling flights and then redeem the points for a set of rewards.
Lee Haslett, Virgin Atlantic’s global sales vice-president, told a Travel Weekly webcast that it’s an ‘always-on’ programme, so agents can log sales online to earn and build points.
“They can choose to spend those points on whatever they want. There’s a set of different rewards, so the more you sell the more you can redeem against what you want as a travel agent,” he said.
“As part of the club we will do some real, once-in-a-lifetime trips and different, fantastic events over the course of the year We will start to announce those as of September – we have got some brilliant things that we will be inviting our agents to, our top agents within that club.
“We will reward those top performers over and above the points they have earned.”
Commenting on the name, the Sky High Club, he said: “We are Virgin Atlantic; we like to be a bit cheeky – and it’s about driving your performance high.”
