Wendy Wu makes China fact-finding trip ahead of tours resuming

Wendy Wu Tours management has visited China to check on facilities to support the resumption of trips following the lifting of Covid travel restrictions.

Members of the senior team spent the last week visiting Shanghai, Beijing, Xian, Changsha and Zhangjiajie, assisted by the China National Tourist Office (CNTO) UK and Hainan Airlines, to ensure all measures are in place to support the return of tours after more than three years,

Company founder Wendy Wu said: “China is well and truly open for international tourists.

“Visiting now, with China having had over three years to rejuvenate and refresh, is like visiting China almost 20 years ago, the attractions and sites are very quiet, and the locals are just so eager and happy to welcome back tourists.

“The uptake on bookings to China, since China reopened, has been incredibly optimistic, having seen a spike of almost 60% in bookings during March and April.

“This clearly shows that demand is there and our agent friends are behind us all the way, with trade contributing to over 65% of the bookings to China so far.”
