Wendy Wu Tours celebrates Olympics with special offers

Wendy Wu Tours is celebrating the Olympics with the offer of free flights and free single supplements for Japan group holidays in 2022 and 2023.

The Tokyo Olympics open on July 23 and run until August 8, then the Paralympics open on August 24. However, the rising number of Covid-19 infections in the Japanese capital mean there will be no spectators at the games.

Wendy Wu Tours said the free flights offer can save up to £800 per person and while the free single supplements deal will save up to £1,940.

Furthermore, throughout the Olympics fortnight, the operator will be offering special ‘booster’ offers – such as DIY Shoryu Ramen kits, Japanese cocktail kits and sushi roll party kits – every time Team GB wins a gold medal.

John Warr, global sales director at Wendy Wu, said: “Japan is now our number one best-selling destination with demand for 2022 and 2023 outstripping other destinations.

“As the official UK tour operator for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, interest in the country rocketed both before, during and after the games and so we know the same will happen with Japan.

“That’s why we’re encouraging everyone to get ahead now and take advantage of these once-in-a-lifetime travel offers.

“Japan has seen massive investment in infrastructure and accommodation ahead of the 2021 Olympic Games, and as this becomes available to visitors, you couldn’t get a better time to visit.”

Bookings must be made by August 9 to qualify for free flights or free single supplements. Offer can be combined with a single £99 booking deposit, with balance due at six weeks before departure.

• Wendy Wu Tours is also offering agents a special ‘buy two tickets for the price of one’ deal for its Japanese cultural treasure trail in London on July 24.

Founder of Wendy Wu Tours, Wendy Wu, will officially open ‘Tokyo-on-Thames’ which celebrates the Olympics and the connections between the British and Japanese capitals.
