Wizz Air takes delivery of 170th aircraft

The 170th aircraft to join the Wizz Air fleet will support operations from Sicily.

The 239-seat Airbus A321neo claims to reduce noice by almost half, with a 50% cut in emissions and 20% less fuel consumption over equivalent types.

 The eastern and central European budget carrier aims to further reduce its CO2 emissions by 25% by 2030 as new aircraft are introduced to the fleet, with 370 on order to help meet  sustainability targets.

Chief development officer Owain Jones, Chief Development Officer at Wizz Air, said: “We are currently the largest operator of A321neo aircraft in Europe. 

“Our significant outstanding order book will power both growth and fast fleet renewal, maintaining Wizz Air’s average fleet age as one of the youngest of any major airline.  

“As Wizz Air continues to take new aircraft deliveries, more passengers than ever before will be able to travel across our network to some of the most exciting destinations.”
