AE Expeditions sets passenger limits on ships in polar regions
Also new for 2026 will be “a brand-new style of exploration” with small-ship cruises visiting the Mediterranean, the Atlantic Coats, British Isles and Ireland.
These are “distinct” from the company’s typical polar and remote area expeditions, but “more than ordinary sightseeing voyages” with immersive exploration, curated experiences and all-inclusive shore excursions at every port.
Highlights of these small-ship cruises include; Moor than a myth: Marrakech to Barcelona from June 20- July 2, 2026, Luck of the Irish: Dublin to Dublin from May 8– 26, 2026, and Myths of the Mediterranean: Athens to Naples between May 8– 26, 2026.
AE Expeditions will also introduce 10 dedicated solo cabins for every sailing with no supplement across its three-ship fleet.
Michael Heath, AE Expeditions chief executive, said: “Our 2026 Arctic and Beyond season heralds an exciting evolution for AE Expeditions.
“We have grown from our core offering of polar and remote area expeditions to a greater diversity of destinations, climates and exploration styles to allow our passengers to experience more.”
He added: “With us soon to welcome the Douglas Mawson to our fleet of small ships, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to diversify and innovate our offering for both our loyal passengers who have joined us in the past, as well as those yet to discover the AE Expeditions difference.”
