Disney Cruise Line to add Avengers-themed dining experience

Disney Cruise Line is to add a new Avengers dining experience to its Disney Wish ship ahead of its launch next year.

The Avengers: Quantum Encounter experience gives passengers an interactive role in the Worlds of Marvel restaurant on board.

The line said that every table at the Worlds of Marvel will feature a new device – ‘Quantum Core’ – “that can cause objects to shrink and grow massively”.

Danny Handke, senior creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering, said: “We’re doing something that’s never been done before in a restaurant, developing an exclusive Avengers adventure that will immerse our guests in the action through sophisticated technology and innovative storytelling.

“It’s the perfect complement to the incredible menu of story-driven dining aboard the Disney Wish.”

Dishes available in the eatery are inspired by places such as the fictional African Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia and the Avengers’ home base of New York City.

Menus are still in development.

Passengers will also be able to eat from casual dining options such Marceline Market and Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods.

Disney Wish will sail its maiden voyage next year on June 9. It will then operate a season of three or four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral in Florida.
