The Expedition Cruise Network has welcomed another member to its organisation.
Micro-cruising specialist Quixote Specialist offers Antarctica tours on two ships for a maximum of 12 people with fly-in and fly-out options across the Drake Passage.
Akvile Marozaite, Expedition Cruise Network chief executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Quixote Expeditions to the Expedition Cruise Network.
“Micro-cruising offers unrivalled access to some of the most remote regions of the world and Quixote Expeditions is a great addition to our ever-growing portfolio of micro-expedition operators, adding an alternative option to visit places such as Antarctica onboard a small boat.”
Laura Smith, Quixote Expeditions co-founder and operations director, said becoming a member of the network gave the company an opportunity to showcase all options available at the smaller end of the range of expedition cruises.
She added: “We, at Quixote Expeditions, are at the smaller end of the range, offering micro-cruises and this is a great place to showcase the uniqueness of micro-cruising in Antarctic waters.
“Many assume vessels of 100 passengers are the smallest possible and we’re here to help share with the world that there are even smaller options. We are excited to join the community to help continue to educate on all of the options available.”
The ECN now has 27 expedition cruise line members and 1,5550 trade members including travel agents, tour operators, travel designers, product, marketing and sales professionals.
