NCL re-draws three ships’ itineraries amid Ukraine conflict

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has amended a string of sailings this year following its announcement that it was removing St Petersburg from itineraries.

Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Dawn and soon-to-launch Norwegian Prima all have itineraries during May to September that have been changed.

The move comes days after the line said it would change itineraries due “to the escalated situation between Russia and Ukraine”.

NCL confirmed three cruises on Getaway on May 18, May 27 and June 5 have been amended, while six departures on July 2, July 11, July 20, July 28, August 7 and August 16 on Norwegian Dawn have also been altered.

Norwegian Prima has one 10-day sailing on September 3 that has been re-drawn.

Affected agents will be notified directly by the line and passengers will receive a 20% discount off the voyage fare.

An NCL spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people during this difficult time.

“The safety and security of our guests and crew is always our top priority. Due to the escalated situation between Russia and Ukraine, we have made the decision to alter our ships’ itineraries in Northern Europe and remove calls to St Petersburg, Russia from our 2022 sailings.”

It added: “We have since liaised with port authorities in the Baltic region to organise alternative itineraries for Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Prima.

“In collaboration with local partners, we were able to secure ports in Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Poland.
