Princess Cruises reintroduces mask mandate on more ships

Princess Cruises has reintroduced masks on three Alaska-based ships following a rise in positive Covid-19 cases in the US state.

The line is operating six ships in Alaska this summer, but the mask mandate will apply only on Royal Princess (pictured), Majestic Princess and Grand Princess.

Princess’ website reads: “Please note that in an abundance of caution masks are required at all indoor locations on northbound and southbound Alaska voyages between Whittier and Vancouver until further notice. Masks will be provided to guests if needed.

“This will be clearly designated through signage and onboard communications.”

The line also added that masks were “highly recommended” while outdoors in large gatherings or if physical distancing could not be maintained.

Princess recently brought back masks on Island Princess’ current transatlantic sailing that ends in Southampton this week due to a spike in cases on board.
