Riviera Travel has scrapped all six summer sailings on Seaventure in the UK amid “ongoing uncertainty and current travel restrictions in Scotland”.
Customer demand had encouraged the operator to add two Scottish itinerary departures in August to its summer programme.
However, the ban on cruise ships docking in Scotland has now forced Riviera to pull every UK departure on the 158-passenger vessel (pictured).
A Riviera Travel spokesperson said: “We regret to announce that we have had to cancel our six Seaventure cruises for 2021.
“We have done everything we can to try and keep the sailings in place and provide a great holiday, but the ongoing uncertainty and current travel restrictions in Scotland mean that we’ve had to now take the decision to withdraw the ship this year.

Riviera Travel to resume Lord Byron river sailings in 2022
“This is particularly disappointing given the popularity of these cruises, which sold out in a matter of weeks following their launch earlier this year.”
Riviera added that it was “working hard” to offer booked guests “equivalent options” next year.
“We would like to thank agents for their continued support and will share more details with them at the earliest opportunity,” the spokesperson added.
Riviera is not the first operator to change scheduled sailings this summer due to the Scottish cruise ban.
Hebridean Island Cruises repositioned its flagship Hebridean Princess to the south coast of England for the summer and cancelled cruises to Orkney and Shetland.
