Royal Caribbean International has been recognised as a year-round supporter of the LGBT+ community.
The assessment by InterPride’s Pride 365 initiative saw the cruise line pledge to actively drive greater inclusion in the work place and behaviours that create equity for the LGBT+ employees and passengers.
InterPride brings together more than 400 firms from more than 70 countries that support the LGBT+ community.
The line said that it “prided itself on offering fun-filled and innovative experiences that create lifelong memories for guests of all ages, gender and sexual orientation”.
Ben Bouldin, Royal Caribbean vice president, EMEA, said: “As a holiday provider, our aim is to put a smile on our guests’ faces 365 days a year.
“We believe that our differences make us stronger and that happy employees make for happy guests and happiness comes from the freedom to inexplicably be true to oneself, both in the workplace and on holiday.”
He added: “We are committed to cultivating a trusting environment where all ideas are welcomed and where employees feel comfortable and empowered to have meaningful discussions — a place where they know they belong.”
Jack Mizel, Pride 365 chief executive, said: “From initial conversations, it was abundantly clear that Royal Caribbean International is truly dedicated to creating a working environment where diversity of talent and thought are both welcomed and positively encouraged.”
