Tui River Cruises unveils winter themed-cruise programme

Tui River Cruises is set to release three themed itineraries lasting between four and seven days on the Rhine.

The winter sailings on 155-passenger Tui Maya feature onboard events, food and drink, guest speakers and shore excursions.

From October 31, the yet-to-launch line is offering a seven-night Wine on the Rhine cruise; a Dancing down the Rhine sailing; and a Rhine & Stein departure. Sailings go on sale on June 1.

The Wine on the Rhine departs from Frankfurt and includes seven ports of call Rudesheim, Boppard, Koblenz, Speyer, Breisach and Mainz, all Germany, and Strasbourg, France.

Passengers will be able to choose from nine wine-based shore excursions, including a visit to a winery that has produced bottles since 1846 and a half-day trip to try Alsatian wines in the town of Obernai.

The line is also offering a shorter four-night version of the Wine on the Rhine itinerary, departing on November 20. Three shore excursions will be available to passengers on the mini Wine on the Rhine sailing.

A professional dance couple will join the six-night Dancing on the Rhine sailing from Frankfurt on November 7. Ports of call include Rudeshieim, Boppard, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Bonn and Koblenz, all Germany.

Dance lessons will be included in the onboard entertainment programme.

A beer-themed cruise – called Rhine & Stein – will run from Frankfurt and include ports of call in Germany and the Netherlands.

Onboard tastings will be available to passengers and brewery visits and city tours will be included the shore excursion programme on the sailing.

The themed cruises will form part of the line’s winter programme which also includes six Christmas and New Year itineraries running from late October to January 2022.
