Works starts on first Aman Group ultra-luxury yacht

Construction has started on the first ultra-luxury yacht for hotel group Aman Group.

The 183-metre Aman at Sea with just 50 suites is due to enter service in 2027 in a joint venture with Jeddah-based Cruise Saudi.

The vessel will be dual fuel-powered using marine diesel oil and methanol, “showcasing Aman Group’s commitment to sustainability”.

Features will include an Aman spa, complete with Japanese garden, two helipads and a beach club offering passengers direct access to the water at the stern of the yacht.

A traditional keel-laying ceremony was held at the T Mariotti shipyard in San Giorgio di Nogaro, Italy.

The vessel’s official name and cruises will be announced in due course, according to the company.

Aman Group chair and chief executive Vlad Doronin said: “Today signifies a momentous step forward in the development of Aman at Sea and my strategic vision to create a new category of ultra luxury superyachts which will provide exceptional travel experiences alongside Aman’s core values of privacy, peace, generosity of space and unparalleled service.

“This represents a significant milestone for the brand as we continue to diversify our geographical portfolio on land, with a strong pipeline of projects, and bring the renowned spirit and architectural distinction of Aman to the world’s oceans for the first time with the launch of Aman at Sea.”
