Randox says it hopes the extension will boost access to for travellers returning to the UK, and the announcement follows the government’s latest relaxation of testing measures for arrivals who have been vaccinated. From 4am Sunday, January 9, lateral flow tests will be accepted in place of PCR tests for arrivals.
Returning holidaymakers will also be able to pick up Randox tests without ordering online in more than 2,500 PayPoint locations from mid-January. This service will be offered in partnership with retailers including Scotmid Co-operative and Spar in the North West of England and Scotland.
Dr Peter FitzGerald, manging director of Randox, said: “The availability of value for money tests that can be collected at the customer’s convenience thanks to our partnership with PayPoint means people in the UK don’t need to wait for home delivery or a walk-in clinic appointment when ordering a covid-19 test.”
