Pristine beaches, family-friendly activities and vibrant resorts are just one flight away in The Bahamas

White sands and turquoise waters are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why Nassau Paradise Island is the perfect place for a family break. With a huge variety of family-friendly accommodation options, a host of activities from horse riding to snorkelling, and attractions that showcase a vibrant Caribbean culture, it’s not hard to see the appeal.

Boasting around 300 days of sun a year and temperatures averaging around 27C, Nassau Paradise Island’s beaches are a huge draw – they’re known for being some of the most beautiful in the world, ideal for relaxing or playing on.

Off the beach, there are three water parks: Aquaventure at Atlantis Paradise Island, Baha Bay in Baha Mar and Fins Up at Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau. These will appeal to kids and parents alike, as they speed down flumes, leap into pools, take on bubbling rapids or relax on lazy rivers.

There’s history too. Learn about the destination’s fascinating past by heading for Parliament Square, Government House and the Queen’s Staircase – the most-visited attraction in Nassau. The island is also home to several well-run museums and art galleries, including many that will particularly appeal to younger guests. At Pirates of Nassau, visitors can board a replica pirate ship and learn about the history of piracy in The Bahamas, while the Educulture Junkanoo Museum offers interactive experiences allowing kids to make vibrant masks or try traditional Bahamian dancing.

Cuisine and comfort

When it comes to food, families will relish the laid-back approach, with Nassau Paradise Island offering everything from local favourites to classic international dishes, all set against the tropical backdrop of the Caribbean.

Don’t forget to try conch, the national food of The Bahamas. The marine mollusk is served up in many ways, including as conch fritters, or fresh in a salad. There are also plenty of places to grab a drink – think fresh, colourful juices for all the family, while adults might fancy adding a little local rum.

In terms of accommodation options, whatever your clients’ needs, be that self-catering apartments or all-inclusive, family-friendly resorts, they’ll be taken care of at Nassau Paradise Island. Bayview Suites Paradise Island, for example, has spacious one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom townhouses and expansive villas, each with a fully functioning kitchen and private terrace or balcony, while Comfort Suites Paradise Island sits right next to Atlantis Paradise Island’s Aquaventure waterpark. At this hotel, kids can stay, play and eat for free (T&Cs apply).

If your clients are looking for even more, there’s the option to take an excursion, such as a trip to the deserted island of Sandy Toes, where they’ll get the chance to meet some of The Bahamas’ famous swimming pigs.

Getting to Nassau Paradise Island is simple too. Virgin Atlantic flies from Heathrow to Nassau twice a week in the summer and four times a week in the winter, while British Airways flies the same route six times a week in the winter, increasing to daily from April. So, there’s never been a better, or easier, time to book that dream family getaway.
