Harnessing data from more than 350 million global traveller profiles, Sojern is well equipped to help companies find and engage with their target travellers.
With the help of travel intent information, which encompasses hotel and airline booking data from thousands of partners all around the world, Sojern offers detailed insight into travel trends, helping travel companies to understand how, when and why customers are searching and making bookings.
Known as the Sojern Traveller Ecosystem, the collection of rich data provided by Sojern has been growing since the company was founded in 2007. Now, with the recent release of its annual European summer travel trends report, it’s continuing to help travel companies grow this season and beyond.
Post-pandemic boom
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the travel industry has been on the road to recovery. Now, with the help of Sojern’s insights, it’s clear that travel is back – and in a big way.
Sojern’s new report, Traveller Insights: Europe Summer Travel 2023, shows that when looking at summer leisure travel for this year, although still slightly lower compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019, the volume of global flight bookings to Europe has increased in all regions from 2022. Oceania has seen the biggest increase where the amount of flight bookings to Europe has risen by 107% over the past year.
The Middle East & Africa saw bookings increase by 33% and in North America, an 18% increase of flight bookings to Europe has been reported.
For the number of searches for European hotels, it’s a similar story. In Oceania, searches have jumped by 288%, while searches from the Middle East & Africa have increased by 83%, and by 50% in North America.
Power in numbers
With the help of this kind of information, travel companies can gain better insight into travellers’ booking trends, and therefore create effective digital marketing campaigns. This helps to not only increase their revenue, but their efficiency, too.
Companies can use Sojern to reflect upon how the market and its trends are evolving. The Sojern Traveller Ecosystem offers information on the most popular destinations, so companies can understand who is booking what.
For example, the Traveller Insights: Europe Summer Travel 2023 report has revealed that, for the second consecutive year, Spain is Europe’s top destination for European travellers.
However, in a change from the 2022 statistics, Greece is now in the second spot, moving Italy down to third. France remains in fourth place, and Portugal has risen to fifth for 2023, knocking Germany out of the top five this year.
Leveraging artificial intelligence and traveller intent data collected by Sojern can help travel companies, hoteliers and destinations to not only find and engage, but also to convert travellers online.
