Ambassador Cruise Line hails trade support after sales surge

Ambassador Cruise Line has hailed the trade for its support following a 40% year-on-year increase in sales on the launch day of its new programme.

The cruise line released itineraries for the 2024-25 season on April 25, with the same capacity as the collection launched a year ago.

Chief commercial officer Phil Gardner told Travel Weekly he is “delighted” that the line has seen a surge in trade and direct sales following the launch.

“We have had so much strength since we launched, and, at around midday on April 25, were about 40% up year-on-year which is a significant change,” Gardner said.

“Our trade sales for Ambience are at about 55% while trade sales for Ambition are at a huge 70% which is brilliant and we are so grateful to the trade for their support.

“For both ships, more than half the volume is from the trade and that’s a deliberate plan. We are a story of growth right now and we have always wanted to create a cruise line that will grow exponentially in partnership with the trade.”

He added: “It has been a really positive start and I’m delighted.”
