APT launches one-off Antarctic cruise

APT will visit Antarctica for the first time with the launch of a one-off new cruise departing in February 2024.

The 15-day itinerary, called Antarctica Voyage, can host up to 200 passengers and will combine three nights in Buenos Aires with a 10-night cruise to Antarctica on expedition vessel Le Boreal.

In Buenos Aires, guests will take a city tour hosted by a local guide and attend a tango show.

The Antarctic cruise includes daily zodiac expeditions to see penguin rookeries and seal colonies, look out for orca, humpback and minke whales, and visit Deception Island.

Prices for the itinerary, which departs February 3, 2024, start from £14,570, including internal flights in South America, a private return APT chart flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, 34 meals, all drinks on the cruise, a tour director and an expedition team.

Brad Bennetts, head of sales and business development for APT and Travelmarvel, said: “We are already well established in the Kimberley region so it is very exciting to be growing this more adventurous side of our portfolio.

“Antarctica is one of the most bucket-list worthy expedition cruising destinations and we are thrilled to be offering guests and agent partners a one-off sailing in February 2024.

“With just 200 places, we expect the cruise to sell out fast so the trade should move quickly to secure places for their customers.”
