Atas trade drive to promote domestic touring and adventure holidays

The Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) has unveiled a publicity drive to promote the range of UK and Ireland holidays available for agents to sell to clients.

Using the motto ‘Experiences Closer to Home’, the association is highlighting how many of its members feature a wide portfolio of domestic touring and adventure options.

Claire Brighton, account director for Atas, said recent changes to the government traffic light system and “unhelpful comments from ministers about foreign travel” meant that many agents and operators were dealing with more uncertainty about overseas holidays.

“We are keen to highlight how many fantastic options there are in the tour and adventure sector right here in the UK and Ireland,” she said.

“Our theme of Experiences Closer to Home is a way for Atas and its members to raise the profile of the choices that are available to agents and their customers in our sector.

“Clients will have amazing experiences, fantastic service and expertise from a specialist tour guide/driver – and agents will still earn commission on bookings.”

As well as highlighting members’ domestic products, the association will be turning the spotlight on its training modules and assets available for agents to promote the destinations.
