Classic brands continue with peak season bookings

Classic Collection Holidays and Classic Package Holidays are continuing with their planned resumption dates, despite parent firm On the Beach halting sales until September.

On Wednesday, online travel agency On the Beach announced it has extended its off-sale period for holidays from June 30 to August 31, following announcements about the traffic light categories for travel.

Most major holiday destinations were on the amber list, which means travellers from England must self-isolate upon their return.

A spokesperson for Classic Collection Holidays and Classic Package Holidays – trade-only operators owned by On the Beach – said: “Classic Collection Holidays and Classic Package Holidays are sold by agents who are able to talk to customers one-on-one about the implications of booking a holiday, and to answer any questions in person.

“As a result, following on from the government’s announcement on Friday, May 7, regarding international travel, Classic can confirm to travel agent partners and mutual customers that Classic Package Holidays currently has on sale all of its featured destinations for travel from July 1.

“Classic Collection Holidays is selling holidays to the following green list destination, Madeira, for departures from May 17 and currently has on sale all of its featured destinations for travel from June 21.

“All holidays sold benefit from the Classic Commitment initiative, guaranteeing that customers will not lose out should their holidays not go ahead as planned.”

Meanwhile, mainstream operators have vowed to continue selling summer holidays despite On the Beach pausing its peak season bookings.

Tui and easyJet holidays will continue offering holidays to countries classified as amber under the government’s traffic light system for reopening overseas travel from Monday.
