Clia and Atas to collaborate on expedition cruise webinars

Cruise industry association Clia and the Association of Touring & Adventure Suppliers are joining forces on a series of trade webinars focusing on the expedition cruise sector.

The three webinars will take place over three consecutive days in late June, with a focus on Antarctica on June 28, the Arctic on June 29 and the Galápagos Islands on June 30.

Expedition cruise line members of Clia include AE Expeditions, Ponant, Scenic, Silversea Expeditions, Quark Expeditions, Seabourn and Swan Hellenic.

Atas members operating in the sector include AE Expeditions, Hurtigruten, Ponant, Scenic, Silversea Expeditions, G Adventures and Intrepid.

Andy Harmer, Clia UK & Ireland managing director, said: “We are delighted to work with Atas as part of our wider programme of events and resources focused on expedition cruising.

“As the sector expands, it presents a great opportunity for travel agents, and these webinars will showcase just some of the important destinations and experiences available.”

He added: “Clia has developed a range of support material for expedition cruise, including a newly refreshed New to Expedition Guide, destination fact sheets, sector-specific events and webinars, and our partnership with Atas will allow us to reach an even wider audience.”

Atas account director Claire Brighton added: “Expedition cruising is a key part of the adventure travel sector and we have developed a range of trade activity in this area, including training modules, webcasts and webinars.

“We are excited to work with Clia to complement the activity Atas is also offering our expedition cruise line partners and further raise the profile of the sector among our associations’ travel agent members.”
