Cosmos and Avalon Waterways parent Globus has produced a Peace of Mind Travel Plan for its brands to provide extra reassurance and flexibility as travel bookings increase for 2022.
The move follows a general upturn in bookings for this year in the last week as a result of the government’s decision to ease travel restrictions.
The Globus group, which includes escorted touring operators Cosmos and Globus and luxury river cruise line Avalon Waterways, is now allowing customers to book a holiday and keep it on hold for a month before they must commit and pay a deposit.
Previously, holiday options would only have been held for a day before confirmation was required.
Under the plan clients can also request a refund or move their plans to a later date, a different location or even to a different brand and travel style easily and without penalty.
Switching a booked holiday to one of the other brands in the portfolio applies across both sister operators Cosmos, Globus and Avalon.
The Peace of Mind Plan allows changes free of charge, with no questions asked, to provide “the ultimate flexibility”, according to the company, and take the stress out of any travel uncertainty.
By giving a longer initial payment window, the company hopes this will give more consumers the confidence to book.
Sales and marketing director Janet Parton said: “We have a dedicated team of experts, both here in the UK and in our offices globally, focused on ensuring we do the right thing for our guests and their travel plans.
“They can be certain that when booking we put safety and enjoyment of our customers at the heart of everything we do.
“The Peace of Mind Travel Plan is designed to reassure guests that travel is possible in 2022, while giving them the ultimate flexibility to change dates, departures and even get a refund should the world change.”
