Homeworking agency Designer Travel has reported a 75% jump in sales over pre-pandemic 2019 at the end of its financial year.
The result represented a 57% increase over the previous 12 months and included cruise sales almost doubling to record levels.
A range of marketing activities, ship visits and product training supported by a selected group of cruise suppliers helped boost booking levels.
The company’s financial performance was not disclosed, however its network of associates has grown to more than 115 with new joiners starting each month, including the first two graduates, Laura Price and Alison Harris.
Staff took more than 200 educational trips in the past 12 months to destinations such as Oman, Florida, Thailand, Mexico, Canada, The Maldives, Crete and Mauritius plus ocean and river cruises. Its 2022 overseas conference was held in Dubai.
Joint owners Karen Pocock and Amanda Matthews, former directors of the Co-operative Travel, said: “We are thrilled that so many of our team got to enjoy and experience so many adventures this year.
“Our hands-on knowledge of destinations combined with an ingrained willingness to share learnings has benefited the team as a whole and customers alike.
“We are so grateful to all of the partners who have worked with us to achieve these amazing numbers and we look forward to paying them back with future sales.”
They added: “We have so many exciting projects due for delivery we won’t be complacent and will continue to innovate and build a business that the whole team along with our special partners can be jointly proud of.”
