The founder of Affordable Car Hire which was forced into liquidation due to the pandemic has re-emerged heading a new online travel firm.
Angela Day has become EMEA managing director at start-up Guestbookings.com, described as a membership platform.
Announcing her new role on LinkedIn, she said: “My previous business, Affordable Car Hire, was a sad casualty of the pandemic.
“I’m excited to be in my new role as GuestBookings.com md EMEA and be part of a new exciting journey.
“GuestBookings.com is a membership platform using the Open Network Exchange (ONE) company next generation future-proof platform.
“Our ‘At Home & Away’ marketplace allows business partners and affiliates to reach customers looking for luxury travel, goods and experiences.
“Our partners have access to our closed user groups of high-value customers through reciprocal agreements.
“Customer loyalty is built by offering the best in market rates, plus exceptional added value, through innovative use of our partnership margins. Some of the groups of goodies offered to customers are almost too good to be true, but they are.
“I’m at the start of a business with amazing potential.”
Day headed Affordable Car Hire for more than 18 years but told Travel Weekly in March she had made the “tough decision” to close the business owing some agents money that could not be reclaimed from suppliers.
