Explora Journeys shares cabin designs for Explora I

Explora Journeys has shared the designs of its Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences on board its first ship, Explora I.

MSC Group’s luxury brand has unveiled the details ahead of Explora I’s maiden voyage departing Southampton on July 17.

Ocean Penthouses range from 43-68sqm, while Ocean Residences are between 70 and 149sqm.

The ship’s 67 Ocean Penthouses contain floor-to-ceiling windows, a private dining area for four, a seating area, walk-in wardrobe, dressing table, heated floors in the bathrooms, binoculars, wireless bed-side charging, an espresso machine, a kettle, teapot and a refillable water bottle.

In addition to the features in the Ocean Penthouses, the ship’s 22 Ocean Residences contain separate living, dining and sleeping areas, and a panoramic ocean-front balcony with a private outdoor whirlpool, dining table and sun loungers.

All Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences will also feature in-cabin fitness equipment by exercise company Technogym.

The line said it is key passengers experience an “opulent yet intimate” stay on board, and refers to all 461 of its cabins as “Homes at Sea”

Jason Gelineau, head of product at Explora Journeys, said: “Environmental respect and sustainability have been key in design choices, ensuring a balance between the tactile and visual experience of every material used.

“Eco-friendly details such as refillable bathroom amenities have also been weaved into the suite offering and, where feasible, we are sourcing sustainable products including B Corp-certified items.

“We will also have a no single-use plastic policy on board.”
