First Saga homeworkers complete induction training

Saga Travel’s first cohort of local travel advisors (LTAs) have completed their induction training.

Five of the new recruits attended the event in London while one joined remotely from their home in Turkey.

The day was aimed at teaching the LTAs new skills and building relationships with the Saga team and their colleagues, and included interactive sessions on social media and training on brand building.

The over-50s tour operator hopes to recruit up to 100 LTAs as self-employed homeworkers over the next four years.

Iain Powell, trading director for Saga Travel Group, said: “It was great to have the first cohort of our LTAs join us at our London offices to meet the team and one another.

“It was an opportunity for us to provide them with the tools to really build their business, from using social media effectively, to how to tell the story and build their brand.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing what they achieve and we’ll be supporting them every step of the way.”

Sharon Almond, an LTA based in Wolverhampton, said: “It was a fantastic day full of great content on how to take my business to the next level.

“I left feeling really empowered and it was great to meet the Saga team and my fellow LTAs.”
